The EPA mandates the use of a HEPA vacuum when doing renovation
work on buildings constructed prior to 1978 which may have lead

aint in them. Renovation contractors must be certifed by the EPA and
use the proper equipment. Dustless HEPA filters meet all government

Regular shop vacuums retrofitted HEPA filters are not “certified,”
